Congress won't debate, busy indulging in mud-slinging: PM Modi in Bhopal

Bhopal, Sep 25(PTI): The Congress is indulging in mud-slinging against the government because it finds it easier than debating on issues like development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Tuesday, in an apparent reference to allegations on the Rafale fighter deal.

Addressing a rally here, he mocked Congress, saying the 125-year-old party has been reduced to such a condition that it is "begging" with small parties for alliances.

He said even if the Congress gets allies, the coalition will not be successful.

Modi said his government believes in social justice for all and that its 'Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas' (cooperation of all, development of all) campaign is not just a slogan.

He expressed confidence that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh as well as in the Lok Sabha elections next year.

PM Modi also touched upon vote-bank politics and said that it has caused immense damage to the country in 70 years after Independence. He added, "Vote-bank politics is like a termite for the country."

"They (Congress) have indulged in mud-slinging earlier too. But I want to tell them, the more you throw mud at us, the more the lotus (BJP's symbol) will bloom," Modi said.

He was apparently referring to the charges of corruption being levelled by the Congress in the Rafale fighter deal.

Modi said the opposition party, instead of indulging in mud-slinging, should engage in a debate on issues like development which "they do not dare to".

Addressing the rally where BJP chief Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were also present, the prime minister said the opposition parties had formed the "Maha-gathbandhan" (grand alliance) out of fear of losing the polls.

"Congress has become a burden on the country today. It is the responsibility of BJP workers in democracy to save the country from it," he said.

When the opposition leaders want to discuss anything, the Gujju-bhai ensures his mouth is firmly shut.

The others at the top table, although possibly do not takle any decisions by themselves, defend the Gujju-bhai.

They defend the Gujju-bhai, but do not answer any charges by the opposition leaders.

So how can the opposition leaders enter into a debate with the silent Gujju-bhai is a mystery to me.

Modi has been called a liar in public. He is not an ordinary person. He is the P.M. of a great country called India. We don't want anyone to call our PM names. Personally I feel very bad when my PM is called a liar. But wonder of wonders, this man does not seem to be affected or he does not seem to feel ashamed. What kind of a man is he? If he has done no wrong let him say openly that he is innocent. He can speak about anything but he does not open his mouth to refute the charges against him. Instead, he is trying to deviate from the subject and is trying to highlight the mistakes of the Congress. What the Congress did or did not do is irrelevant now Sir. The needle of suspicion is hanging over your head. The whole world is looking at you and India. Please don't make this country a laughing stock. We don't want the world to mock at us. If you have done anything wrong as claimed by the opposition, admit that. And if you are not at fault, refute the charges. Why are you keeping quiet? Your silence is deafening.

Lies are lies and never die. Truth ultimately prevails, howsoever hard anyone tries to brush it under the carpet. That is the case now with the Rafale fighter jet deal, which has turn into a full-blown scam that Government of India is trying to cover-up. But revelations coming one after the other are making it hard for the Modi government to repress the truth of the Rafale deal.It is now public knowledge that the deal to purchase 36 fighter jets for the Indian Air Force from Dassault Aviation, has been tainted with corruption. As it happens with every dubious deal, eventually evidence starts emerging and chickens come home to roost.
First, people learnt how Anil Ambani’s 12-day-old Reliance Defence Limited, with no expertise in aeronautical manufacturing, was given the contract to manufacture the high-tech aircrafts. Long experienced state-owned company Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) was suddenly taken off the contract with the Anil Ambani group taking over as Dassault’s offset partner for the ₹58,000 crore contract. Interestingly, the junior Ambani brother was also in France when Prime Minister Modi announced a reworked Rafale deal, vastly different from the one envisaged by the previous UPA Government, which had HAL as Dassault’s partner for Rafale.
Mr Modi, it’s high time you get rid of the taint that has smeared your reputation in the Rafale deal. Else, history may remember you as the ‘suit-boot wala prime minster’ who worked for well heeled industrialists such as Ambani, Adani and Choksi, rather than millions of Indian poor who voted you to power with much hope.

JPC is a official debate in the parliament, why are you so nervous about it and evading it?. Does he want a open debate in public or inside the parliament?. The opposition mainly congress was asking for debate and questions on almost all issues since 2014 but Modi is evading all this and making only one way statement by himself in public speech. Never involves himself in any two way debate or question and answer session. Even about debate itself he talks in his public speech but not ready for any debate. FYI, 125 year old congress party has kicked out 200 years of Britishers rule. As for you, you will die your natural death no need for congress to lift a finger as every Indian is against you and the number is multiplying every second.

With this conduct, I am sure BJP will fail to secure even 44 seats in the upcomin 2019 general election.
