Mangaluru: Heads of Handmaids of Sacred Heart of Jesus convents abroad visit Paldane convent

Mangaluru, Sep 24: Mother general Sr Rosario Fernandes of the Handmaids of sacred Heart of Jesus Convent in Spain, assistant general Sr Innis Olaga, Sr Maria Vas Pinto from Portugal and Sr Margaret Durome visited the Handmaids of Sacred Heart of Jesus Convent at Paldane. The convent in Paldane is the only convent of the congregation in Karnataka. The heads of the convent had come to Paldane after taking part in the completion of fifty years celebration in Mumbai.

Parish priest Fr Vincent Victor Menezes welcomed them with flower bouquets. Mangaluru diocese judicial vicar Fr Walter D' Mello, local convent's Sr C Suvarna, Sr Dortothy and others were present.



A book titled 'Thaval Raath Zalli' written by Fr Vincent Victor Menezes, that answers questions raised against Catholic faith was released. Judical vicar Fr Walter D'Mello, vice president of parish pastoral council Roshan Lasrado and secretary Veena Menezes were present. The book gives answers to questions by catholics who have gone away to join other groups and put forward their interpretations of the Bible mentioning different sentences and sequences in it. The book that is published in eleven chapters was published once earlier in 1989.

Fr Walter D'Mello, who has been serving as resident priest in St Theresa church, Paldane for the last one year is appointed Modankaup Infant Jesus church parish priest and Mangaluru diocese Vicar var. Parish priest Fr Vincent Victor Menezes felicitated him after mass by presenting a memento. Vice president of Parish pastoral council Roshan Lasrado and secretary Veena Menezes were present.
