Beltangady, Sep 22: A youth drowned in a river on Friday September 21 while bathing. He is identified as Imran (24), son of Sirajuddin from Bangerakatte near Madantyar in the taluk.

Imran had completed his engineering degree course and was working with his father, who happens to be a contractor.

A report about this incident was filed at Punjalkatte police station.
