Udupi, Sep 21: The Udupi sistrict BJP staged a protest against Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, after he gave a call to people to revolt against BJP.

Addressing the protestors in front of Town BJP office, Kadiyali here on Friday, September 21, District BJP president Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde called statement made by CM Kumaraswamy as indecent. “It is very disappointing that being CM of Karnataka, he is using provocative words,” he said.

“Kumaraswamy speaks about public support but was he able to garner it? BJP has occupied 104 seats out of 224. The JD(S) has formed impure alliance with Congress just for political gain,” Hegde lashed out.

“BJP is not accountable for the indifference within Congress party or for the rebel ministers. It is not correct to blame BJP for Congress party indifferences. BJP might have failed to form government, but we are strong enough to come back to power. If CM calls for revolt, let him go ahead with it. BJP is ready to face it. There is provision to file a Section 124A case for sedition. Power is not permanent. Let him stop all unnecessary acts and let the government focus of maintaining law and order in the State,” Hegde stressed.

Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar said, “Till now no CM has made such provocative statements. But this is not the first time Kumaraswamy is doing such statements. While forming cabinet ministry he had given a call for forming a separate State for North Karnataka in the initial days. CM is the person who is supposed to unite the people. CM is not restricted to one party, a caste or a region. BJP is not at all responsible for internal clashes. If he makes such statements, what public can expect from him? CM delivers statement like naxal activists. It is all pre-planned.”

Kumar further alleged that the CM is using provocation to safeguard his seat. “There is no scope for anarchy. Let the police book a case on him or let him apologize publicly,” he demanded.

Opposition Leader Kota Srinivas Poojary said, “Kumaraswamy stuck to three districts as a chief minister. He is a rebel CM. Let him ask apology in front state’s people or let him resign for his post. There is no connection between IT raid on DK Shivakumar and BJP. It is their own fault. BJP won 104 seats. That shows the power of BS Yeddyurappa. Let CM stop all anti-democratic statements.”

Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat, State secretary Shyamala Kundar, Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon, Sheela K Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna, Prabhakar Poojary and others were present.
