Bengaluru: Operation Lotus scare - Cong and JD (S) MLAs to parade before Governor

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, Sep 21: The ruling coalition alliance of Congress and JD (S) is thinking of parading all its legislators in front of the Governor Vajubhai R Vala and complain that the BJP is trying to woo its MLAs with monetary gains and ministerial berths.

This information was given by DCM G Parameshwar on Friday, September 21. The DCM said, "The manner in which the BJP is trying to destabilise the government by trying to entice our MLAs, we do not have any other option but take all of our legislators to the Raj Bhavan and bring this to the notice of the Governor. The time and date will be decided soon by both the parties,"

DCM G Parameshwar

"It seems the BJP is not at all concerned with the development and other issues in the state. Their only goal, as can be made out of their behaviour, is to bring the coalition government down. But BJP's dream will never materialize. We had a cabinet meeting in which various issues like drought and floods of the state were discussed," Parameshwar added.

DCM also said that the dream of Yeddyurappa to become the CM of Karnataka will not turn into a reality.

Replying to the query on the commitment of the MLAs of Congress and JD (S) in remaining faithful to the party, Parameshwar said, "There is no question of any legislator of JD (S) or Congress joining the BJP. The government's stability is intact,"

BJP is agitated over the CM's statement that he will ask the people of Karnataka to start a mutiny against their state president Yeddyurappa. The BJP in its statement said that it is not right on the part of the chief minister to instigate the public to revolt against a party or person.

Defending Kumaraswamy's controversial statement, Parameshwar said, "We have to analyze by going into the depth of CM's statement and see why this statement was given. Kumaraswamy was only answering BJP's continuous taunts on his style of functioning,”

Is there any solution to the Cong - JD(S) combine by parading their MLAs before a Governor who is interested in the case??? The time is nearing for the State Government to face a No Confidence Motion by the opposition since the 6 month breather is closing in November. Hence all this panic. HDK should honour the Coalition Dharma if he has to survive. Otherwise it will be dooms day for all parties with Aya Rams and Gaya Rams making hay while the sun shines.

Any Operation Kamala need to be stop in the future Representation of the People Act, 1950 need immediate amendment by putting permanent break on defection law.

    Do our useless Election Commission of India will save the democracy and voters mandate considering the following points in the amendment;
    1. No elected member of the house can cross the party for the entire tenure of the assembly.
    2. The candidate should be barred from contesting election for life time if found defected.
    3. All the reelection expenses for the particular constituency should be recovered from the defected candidates.
    4. If candidate is unable to pay, the party he/She has defected should be accountable until its party funds should be freeze to recover the reelection cost.
    5. All the immediate members of the defected candidate should be barred from contesting the election.
    6. If parties has no simple majority to run the government, all party candidates who had won the elections should continue the office for entire tenure under Supreme Court appointed joint assembly panel to run the government proposition to the seats the party has won.

Rs 1.5 lakh crore estimated amount has been spent on elections in the past five years. The Election Commission itself spent a very big sum - Rs 3,500 crore - in 2014 to conduct the Lok Sabha polls in all of the 543 parliamentary constituencies of India. Taking 2014 as the base, the cost of holding one elections works out to Rs 70 Crores per Lok Sabha and Rs 10 Crores for assembly constituency.

In Karnataka BJP has planned to woo 18 candidates from ruling coalition. This amount to 1800 crores for reelections. For the parties who can offer Rs 100 crores per candidate the above amount is small.

Now one wonder why our nation is not progressing and lack money for development and our fuel prices can't be controlled with multiple taxes?

Kanndigas your wise thinking need to save democracy. Fractured mandates are curse of our nation.

India is a democracy and not a dictatorship. In India every citizen has every right to resign or fight for election. You can't put a ban on relatives of a sitting /resigned member from contest g as it is against principal of democracy. Correct way of proving majority is in Assembly and not parading again St Govrrner. These chor ghatbandhan fail to remember the Apex court direction in this matter
When a president of a particular party behaves in a particular way which the members won't agree has every right to resign from the party /Assembly

All their pretentions that BJP is a party with a difference has come to nought with the last general elections. The undemocratic manner in which they installed their Govt's in Goa and NE states was shamefull.

They are trying their best to do the same in Karnataka. With a PM looking the other way on all issues, the country will sooner than later get into an uncertain future if such undemocratic methods are not stopped.

As for yeddy, his age past 70 is driving him crazy to go to an extent to fulfill his selfish motive of becoming CM again at what price will this beautiful state pay for these self scruplous politicians.
