Just last week visited Bangalore to Mangalore via shiradi ghat in car, roads are completely gone, there r few places where only 1 car can go at a time, rest 3/4th of the road is completely gone. So only if ur good driver than think of going and pls check the weather forecast before u start your drive via Shiradi ghat ...

Coming back to the topic , Bus lobby will ensure trains won't resume early as it's right time for them to charge 3x of the actual price sinc Dasara,Diwali,Xmas is on line for them & all the so called Mangalore MLA's& MP won't bother as they will travel via air or private car..
Check the price for private bus ticket during Dasara from Bangalore to Mangalore it has already crossed 1700/head .

No proper bus service... Not even train.... Private Taxis and buses are over charging ... No work is being done on shiradi ghat road stretch apart from temporary repair work which was done weeks before..Nothing is done now... Administration is blind and not listening to people's problem who regularly ferry between the cities...It may take Atleast 6 months by current trend for shiradi ghat work to get repaired...Politicians can travel by using Govt cars what about common man who is entirely dependent on public service like bus and train...
