Kuwait: Mega event 'Billava Chavadi' entertains huge audience

Kuwait, Sep 20: The much awaited mega annual event by Billava Sangha Kuwait (BSK), ‘Billava Chavadi 2018’, was held on September 14 at the Cambridge School Auditorium, Mangaf, Kuwait. Tulu comedy drama ‘Kaik Tikkujer’ was staged along with other cultural programmes.

The event began with the graceful and equally confident Ashwitha Surendra Poojary, who introduced Nithesh Poojary Marnad, as the young and charismatic master of Tulu language and handed over the reins of the event to him. The event roared to the heights of success that no one had anticipated. The captivating voice of Nithesh, his twists and turns while interacting with the audience, along with the tinge of humour, assured to hold the audience attention all along. He made it his mission to ensure that the crowd was completely engrossed in his conversations and succeeded at it.



The programme commenced with Brahma Shree Narayana Guru Pooja, national anthem and prayer by Arjun Surendra Poojary. Cultural programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp and release of souvenir ‘Billava Bolpu’ by president Raghu C Poojary and BSK management committee members.

The president of the association, Raghu C Poojary welcomed the audience with a humble speech which was followed by a welcome dance performed by little toddlers, fusion dance by BSK kids, Hindi song sung by Hemant Kumar and folk dance by BSK Ladies. Cultural dance from kids and adults of the association claimed loud applause from the audience.

Nithesh Poojary Marnad, the young and charismatic host was honored with a shawl and memento by the managing committee. The guest artists from Mangaluru Praveen Kotian Kodakkal, Chandrashekhar R Poojary, Rakesh BC Road and Ganesh Kodakkal were felicitated for their contribution towards drama. This was followed by the felicitation of the sponsors of the event; main sponsor - Unimoni, gold sponsor - Pacific International, and silver sponsors - Khalil Bahman & Partners, Al Ghanim Fencing, Global Hardware, Oriental Restaurant, Golden Wok Restaurant, and Infinit Training center.

Chief guest Sugunan Kochuveetil, president of Saradhi Kuwait in his speech believed that the world would be a peaceful place without any violence if Brahma Shree Narayana Guru's message ‘One Cast, One religion, One God’ is followed by all.

Prabhakar Bola, BSK committee member, spoke about the scholarship programme undertaken by BSK and services rendered by Shree Guru Charitable trust.All the BSK activities in the year 2017-2018 were briefed by Nithesh Poojary Marnad and same was projected through the slide show. Gautham Suvarna, general secretary of BSK rendered the vote of thanks.

The main attraction of the event was Tulu comedy drama ‘Kaik Tikkujer’, the story written by Rakesh Shetty BC road, directed by famed artist Satish Acharya and music by Ganesh Kodakkal. The spontaneous hard hitting comedy punches were rib tickling and kept the crowd glued to their seats. Enthusiasm in the audience was on the high and continued so until the end. The full packed auditorium witnessed another mega event by Billava Sangha Kuwait.

The drama casted most talented guest artistes from India like Praveen Kotian Kodakkal, Chandrashekhar R Poojary, Rakesh BC Road and admired local artists Lucy Lobo Aranha, Melanie Sequeira, Johnson Almeida, Sathish Acharya, Ganesh Salian, Mithun Vishwanath, Jyothi Sudhir, Sudhakar Salian, Balakrishna Poojary, Amarnath Suvarna, Sujith Kotian and Sujeet Amin.

The sound and lighting was provided by Waves Events & Rentals, souvenir and artwork by Manoj Kumar, attractive reception was arranged by Soumya Suvarnaand team while photography was by Sandeep Kumar Attavar and videography done by Peppello Photography. Tasty Dinner was served by Mughal Tandoori.

BSK management committee thanked the sponsors, well-wishers, committee members, members, one and all for their contribution towards the grand success of ‘Billava Chavadi 2018’.
