Karkala: Woman electrocuted by wild boar trap connected to power - another arrested

Karkala, Sep 20: In connection with the death of Girija Poojary from Posral Bommayya Lachil in Sacheripet, Mundkoor village after stepping on a cable connected to electricity for trapping wild boars which might stray that way, the police have made another arrest.

The personnel of the rural police station here arrested Shivaram Shetty (80) from Posral on Wednesday September 19. He has been accused of extending support to the persons in getting power connection to the cables laid out by them.

Relating to the case, Sunil (30) from Mundkoor, John (57) from Kadandale, and Padmanabha Salian (45) from Sacheripet were arrested on Tuesday. Two cars, three cellphones and Rs 35,000 in cash were also confiscated. The accused were produced in the court on Wednesday whereupon they were remanded to 14 days judicial custody.

The operation was led by police circle inspector here, Joy Antony, and rural police sub-inspector, Nassir Husain.
