Mangaluru: Dr Gururaj Karajagi inspires students of St Aloysius College on 'How to be successful'

Mangaluru, Sep 19: The student activity committee and women’s forum of St Aloysius College (autonomous) on September 17 organized a motivational talk by Dr Gururaj
Karajagi, chairman, Academy of Creative Teaching, Bengaluru at the L F Rasquinha auditorium, LCRI block.

Principal, Fr Dr Praveen Martis SJ presided over the programme. Dr Ishwar Bhat, convener of the student activity committee and Dr Saraswathi Kumari K, president,
women’s forum, were on the dais.



Dr Gururaj Karajagi began his talk by narrating the life stories of stalwarts like Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, who are still remembered for their humanitarian work. He quoted De Rosette’s words, 'Success is to be measured by the number of people who cry when you die'. He also said that the joy of giving is the purpose of life and that is the success of life. He urged the audience to be simple and humble in life. Several examples were enumerated to prove that wealth, power, physical strength and fame are NOT the parameters to measure one’s success. This motivational talk was inspirational and well appreciated by all the audience. Dr Gururaj Karajagi was honoured for his invaluable contributions in the field of education.

Fr Pradeep Sequeira SJ, the finance officer, Dr Leo D’Souza, director of Applied Botany Research Lab, directors of various blocks, deans and the faculty members were present at the programme.

Alwyn D’Souza, assistant professor, dept of Political Science compered the programme. Manasa and group rendered the invocation. Dr Ishwar Bhat introduced the guest speaker and welcomed the gathering. Dr Saraswathi Kumari K proposed the vote of thanks.

About Dr Gururaj Karajagi

Dr Gururaj Karajagi is chairman of the Academy of Creative Teaching, Bengaluru and also holds a doctoral degree in Chemistry from Karnataka University. He has published over 22 research papers in International Research Journals. He has served as member of several prestigious educational and governmental bodies. He is a life Fellow of the Electrochemical Society of India and on the Boards of Management of a few Medical Universities. Dr Karajagi has also served as member of the State Resource Group (SRG) for the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) at the colleges of Karnataka. Dr Karajagi is a well-known columnist and writes regularly for a popular daily and has completed more than 1500 columns. His books entitled 'Karunaalu Baa Belake' (volumes 1 to 10) are immensely popular and have seen several
editions. Through the Academy for Creative Teaching, Dr Karajagi has been instrumental in building over 86 schools of very high quality all over the world. He is also a member of the Karnataka Jnana Aayoga.
