Mangaluru, Sep 18: Muhurat of two Konkani dramas, 'Ashi Tashi Tashi Ashi Ashi Kashi Zali Pischi ’ and 'Moladhik Mothim San Rita', was held on Monday, September 17 at Don Bosco hall in the city.
Dolla Mangalur and Arther Rasquinha are the directors of the drama respectively which are produced by Konkani Natak Sabha, Mangaluru.
Along with the directors, Fr Maxim Nazareth, St Ann's Frairy, Sunil Menezes, vice-president, Konkani Natak Sabha, Walter Mendonca, Muscat, Lawrence D’Souza, Cascia, drama writer, and Jossy Theodore of Konkani Natak Sabha graced the dais during the muhurat.
Inaugurating the programme, Fr Maxim Nazareth said, “This year, Konkani Natak Sabha is celebrating its platinum jubilee. In the field of drama, it is a great achievement. We all know that the number of dramas and drama artistes are decreasing these days. TV and other electronic media have succeeded to attract more and more audience. Even then, people love dramas. Don Bosco hall is the best example for it. Every year, dramas are exhibited here and people are coming in large numbers to watch dramas. Today, we are witnessing a rare moment. That is, muhurat of two dramas. It is good news to entire Konkani world. It shows the unity and cooperation between the artistes and organizers. I wish the best for both directors and artistes are going to be part of these dramas.”
Wishing the artistes chief guest of the event, Walter Mendonca Muscat, said, “In busy schedule, it is difficult to bring artistes under one roof and train them. Everyone is busy with their own responsibilities. But I appreciate Konkani Natak Sabha for their initiative and directors Dolla and Arthur who directing the dramas. There is no doubt that both dramas will be super hits. ‘Ashi Tashi Tashi Ashi Ashi Kashi Zali Pischi’ was already presented twenty years ago at various venues. Here it is back once again. I congratulate all artistes and supporters of the both the dramas.”
Introducing the artistes, Dolla said, “‘Ashi Tashi Tashi Ashi Ashi Kashi Zali Pischi’ is a drama which received a lot of appreciation in the Konkani world. It is a typical comedy play. Meanwhile, ‘Moladhik Mothim San Rita’ is based on the life story of St Rita. It is a religious play written by Lawrence D'Souza Cascia . Experienced artistes will take part in both the plays. I thank Konkani Natak Sabha for their support.”
