Shivamogga, Sep 18: Konkani community all over the world celebrated the feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary by offering flowers to Infant Mary followed by holy eucharist and 

thereafter distribution of new corn, sugarcane and traditional fellowship meal.

In Shivamogga, our own Karnataka state about 300 Konkani speaking people from various parts of the city gathered in the street opposite to Mother Theresa hall, Chaitanya building, managed and run by the priest and bishop of Shivamogga and Shimoga Multipurpose Social Service Society (SMSSS).



The faithful gathered together as one family and celebrated Monti Fest traditionally in the street on September 13. The celebration started with procession, adults and children offering flowers while the choir sang hymns praising and glorifying Mother Mary.

Konkani Catholic Sabha, Shivamogga arranged for the prayer and traditional 'Noven Jevan' which was served to all.
