Udupi: Mudarangadi GP gets CSR grant commitment of Rs 1.55 crore from Adani UPCL

Udupi, Sep 16: Adani owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) handed over the CSR Grant Confirmation Letter of Rs 1.55 crore to the Mudarangadi gram panchayat for the Financial Year 2018-19 on September 15.

Kishore Alva, Joint President of Adani UPCL and David D’Souza, President of Mudarangadi Gram panchayatmutually exchanged the CSR Grant Confirmation Letter and Kriya Yojana (Action Plan) Letter with each other. The Kriya Yojana Letter of Gram panchayatcontained the list of activities for development at a project cost of Rs 1.55 crores.

Handing over the CSR Grant Confirmation Letter to Panchayat, Kishore Alva informed that Adani UPCL has earmarked a special CSR Grant of Rs 22.73 crores totally for seven grama panchayats for a total period of 3 years. In that grant, Mudarangadi Panchayat would be benefitted with various developmental works worth Rs 4.65 crores over a period of 3 years. He further told that under the declared CSR Grant of Rs 4.65 crores to Mudarangadi gram panchayat in the year 2015-16, Adani UPCL has so far taken-up and completed 14 development works as per the Kriya Yojana list of Panchayat at a cost of Rs 2.41 crores. The completed works include concreting of Santuru-Alu Brahmasthaana Road, Santuru-Hoige Maaru road, Pilaru-Mitabettu road, Santuru-Paradi road, Santuru-Mudadi road, Vellankini road, Santuru-Bharani road,
Vidanagar Colony Internal roads and Jangama Mutt road, Kishore Alva added. The development works to Infant Jesus Church in Pilar, Subramanya Temple in Santuru, Mahalingeshwara Temple in Pilar, concreting of Santuru-Garadi road, concreting of Pilar SC ST Colony road would be soon taken-up, Alva added.

Alva also informed that the works worth Rs 1.55 crore identified in the Kriya Yojana for the year 2018-19 would soon be taken-up for execution by company and would be completed by the end of December 2019. The Kriya Yojana for the year 2018-19 included the works of concreting of Santuru-Shedi road, Kunjigudde-Jatrabettu road, Halasinakatte road, Pilar-Tenkila road, Pilar-Kunjigudde road. In addition to the village infrastructure development works being undertaken by Adani UPCL under its special CSR package, company is also providing potable drinking water to the villagers through its RO Plant installed in Mudarangadi village, Alva told.Accepting the CSR Grant Confirmation letter for the year 2018-19 from Adani, David D’Souza acknowledged the Social Development works of UPCL and thanked on behalf of Panchayat members and residents.

Anil Kumar, panchayat development officer, Sukumar Shetty, Shoba Fernandes, members of panchayat, UPCL company’s AGM Girish Navada, senior manager Ravi R Jere, Adani Foundation team members Vineet Anchan, Sukesh Suvarna, Andeep Poojary and residents were present on the occasion.
