Dharwad: Medical negligence - parents lose 18-month-old child

Dharwad, Sep 15: A child breathed its last because of a blunder committed by a doctor at Hubballi.

Vishal, 18-month-old child of Erappa Basava residing at Anandanagar, Hubballi, was suffering from fever since two days. The parents had admitted the child into a private hospital at Vikas Nagar, Hubballi. The hospital doctors informed the parents about the demise of their child on Friday morning.

The parents brought the mortal remains home and prepared to perform its funeral. At the last minute, the child breathed and vomited a couple of times. It was immediately rushed to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital. The child however, breathed its last on Friday September 14 evening. The doctors of this hospital opined that the child's life could have been saved if it had been brought a little earlier.

The family members of the child have now urged the district administration to initiate action against the doctor of the private hospital.

    The incident is tragiic. I can understand the pain parents have undergone here. Sad incident . However let there be a proper enquiry before blaming the Doctors

    It is most unfortunate that the parents lost their loving 18-month-old child due to the negligence of the doctor. How can a doctor do such a mistake? RIP young baby. Condolences to the bereaved parents and loved ones.

    You are quite depressed about the year 2014...... shows still dwelling in those stinking environment of 1960's..... Pl. come out of this Time Phobia.... By the way.... Congress and JDS ruling in Karnataka..... and those duffers are still not awake to give proper medical facilities ... Question them and their credibility to public....
