Thiruvananthapuram: Flood devastation - Kerala seeks Rs 4,700 crore from centre

Daijiworld Media Network - Thiruvananthapuram (SP)

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 14: Kerala government has written to the union home ministry, seeking immediate assistance to undertake flood relief operation and pay compensation. It said in the letter that because of floods, 488 persons have died and extensive damages were suffered by 14 districts.

The amount sought as above is meant to pay compensation in case of loss of lives, property loss, and damage to infrastructure and agricultural crops. The state has sought help from the centre as the amount required for relief operation is huge and beyond the capacity of the state.

The centre is expected to depute a team to assess the loss and depending on its report, release funds required to the state. After the said report is scrutinized by the sub-committee of the national executive committee, it is verified by a high level committee headed by the home minister. National Disaster Relief Fund approves additional assistant amount after which the centre releases funds from disaster response fund.

Do you think there are only 4700 families affected. What about money to build damaged bridges power lines roads etc. This money is required over a one year period only. Govt of India is collecting around 15 lakh crores revenue per year . Why don t you ask if they re giving even 1000 h per family in India going by same logic.

Kerala will get babaji ka tullu from chaiwala. However, Mallus will give a fitting reply to cheddi government in the coming Lok Sabha elections, if chaiwala plays around with them.

The goberment was just making in roads in Kerala and all their efforts will go down the drain if chailwala plays smart with mallus.

The Kerala floods have come as a distraction to the Central Government.

The Central Government steered by the Gujju-bhai has its full focus on the Rs 150,000 crores Bullet Train for the rich Gujju businessmen.

There is no time to think about any natural disasters.

Modiji and Shah both are not having tears nor blood in their heart and eyes. They talk about BJP power in Kerala. That's all. But Keralits are very clever.

They won't give a single seat to BJP. All are educated and not like UP or Gujarat.
