Bengaluru: Vijay Mallya likely to be handed over to India on December 10

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Sep 14: The Westminster Court at London is expected to deliver its verdict on the petition filed by India seeking deportation of industrialist, Vijay Mallya, who had fled to London after cheating banks to the tune of about Rs 9,000 crore. Judge of the court, who heard arguments and counter arguments presented by advocates from both the sides on Wednesday September 12, posted the case to December 10 for the passing of order.

With this, the efforts made by investigation agencies in the country which were trying to force Mallya to face legal action here by bringing him back from England, have reached another phase. During the hearing, the agencies have given detailed information about the way Mallya took the banks in India for a raid before fleeing. At the concluding stage, the judge remarked that prima facie there appears to be sufficient evidence on record against the accused. This remark gave an indication that concern being expressed about the prison conditions in India by Mallya's advocate to stop his extradition might not adversely influence the extradition order.

The investigation agencies therefore are confident of getting a favourable order from the court. The Indian agencies argued that Mallya had raised loans from different banks, without disclosing the fact that his Kingfisher Airlines was running in loss. Advocate for Mallya said that there was pressure on Central Bureau of Investigation to level charges against his client and that the agency chief, Rakesh Asthana, had threatened the heads of banks to register cases against Mallya failing which they would face dire straits.

Now it has to be seen whether details of proposal Mallya claims he has placed before Karnataka High Court for clearance of dues would be considered favourably, and whether they are acceptable to the banks.

Modi seems to be prime minister in some alternative universe where he has brought in his mythical “Achhe din” and much ballyhooed “Good governance”.

Incidentally, after getting elected on both promises, these are now banned words in the BJP. This December 10 seems to be one like BJP 'Aache Din'.

India and the UK signed extradition treaty in 1992 - a year after liberalisation as mandated by the IMF and World at the behest of Washington DC and London opened Indian markets to their multi-national companies.

In the 26 years of the extradition treaty being in operation, the UK has accepted only one request for extradition of a fugitive living in that country. All other requests remain pending till date.

The only person to have been extradited to India is Samirbhai Vinubhai Patel. He was wanted in one of the 2002 Gujarat riots cases. The UK government extradited Patel in October 2016.

This is imaginary date of extradition is nothing but BJP's face saving exercise to help his Union Minister Arun Jaitley which opposition parties demanding his resignation.

Read about Sri.Vittal Mallya and how he " Valued Money"
About Vijaya Mallya it's only about " squandering money".
If you don't value money when it's with you ,then it teaches you what it means to be
    Valueless.
There's a lesson in here for all of us.
Do not take money or positions for granted.
Keep your feet planted on the ground always....

this is just an eye wash...so far in the history Uk has not extradited nobody. even in Gulshan kumar t series accused to bomb blast accused to drug baron nobody has been extradited.

forget Vijay mallya who has lots of investments in UK. with his money, drinks & glamour power all the politicians are in his pocket. Buying anybody easy for him . they have & will put a weak case in UK.

its a drama till next election.

now nobody talks about IPL Modi /choksy/nirav modi. they have plenty in hand to divert from the main development issues & spread hate against Ghandi's. one more year to dream how to run this country next 50 years only.

though most of the private airlines loss making venture by one or other reasons in India Mr. Mallya established well organized and successful private airlines and Indians should be proud of that and in particular kannAdigas/Mangaloreans . it is unfortunate that Kingfisher airline went in to loss ; bank loans to tone of Rs. 9000 crore is due from Kingfisher. Mr. Mallya offered to settle the dues. the banks and govt should have settle the matter amicably. Even if Mr. Mallya would settle the dues with lesser amount bank would get back money which would be "some thing is better than nothing" . WHAT THE BENEFIT BANKS OR GOVT WOULD RECEIVE IF MR. MALLYA JAILED???? . King fisher is not only the private airline went into loss and shut down. East-west airlines, Damania airlines few examples those in closed list

If he is extradited then its a shot in the arm for BJP and bad news for Cong.

Pappu will have to think of new strategy. Even if Mallya is not extradited , BJP will be lauded for its huge efforts as its proved that all his loans was done during the regime of Cong . People will laud Chaiwaala PM Modi for 'at least he tried' unlike the Cong that never initiated such a step in decades of its rule. So any which way the court verdict goes, it will be ' advantage Modi'.

Wait for the verdict on December 10th!. Even if he is extradited to India, there will be many conditions which India cannot cross!!!.

Hope you remember Abu Salem and Purtugal courts conditions!?.

We have to keep in same luxury as in Portugal prisons and any deviation, Portugal will ask him back!. Same with Vijay Mallya! You can't do anything with him as almost all his properties in India are confiscated and or auctioned!!!!

Vijaya Mallya made a big mistake.

He should have settled the dispute of KingFisher Airlines with the SBI
One Kingfisher Air Hostess committed suicide for not getting salary from Kingfisher Airlines.
V.MALLYA WAS JUST ENJOYING LIFE IN THE CALENDARS.

He should have offered more to SBI to settle the Loans taken by him.

AS OF NOW HIS CASE IS IN THE COURT, WHETHER HE WILL BE HANDED OVER OR NOT IT IS YET NOT DECIDED. WHATEVER BE THE SITUATION HE IS FACING; THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUE.

    I QUOTE MATTHEW 5:25

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. UNQUOTE.
