Udupi, Sep 12: Singing sensation Shibani Kashyap is all set to perform in Manipal in November. Famed for singing Bollywood hits like ‘Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat’, ‘Sajna Aa Bhi Jaa,’ Zinda Hoon Main’, ‘Kya Nazakhat Hai,’ Shibani was conferred with the best playback singer award at Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival in 2018 as well as honoured with the Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award in 2018.
Born in Delhi, Kashyap is a popular for Bollywood playback and pop singing. She has judged a singing reality show named ‘Bathroom Singers’ and is internationally recognized. She has sung a jingle for Pakistani serial Mohabbat Jai Bhar Mein in Urdu, which is a hit in Pakistan.
Shibani recently performed at the New York India Day parade at Madison Ave on August 19, this year. This is the world's largest India-day parade held on the occasion of 72nd year of Indian Independence.
She won the Best Female Pop Singer award for the album Nazakat at the 2005 Sangeet Awards held in San Francisco. Her performances are popular in New York, San Francisco and many other places. She rendered her voice for the signature tune of All India Radio F.M, which was released in 1996.
Shibani Kashyap’s social responsibility is commendable. She took part in the fight against corruption led by Anna Hazare and also composed a song “Anna Hazare deep Hamare”. Kashyap is an active crusader of social causes. After the 26/11 Mumbai attack, she had released a song named Alvida as a tribute to the victims. Her song ‘I Am a Woman Am a Girl,’ is the official anthem for Femina Miss India.
Shibani’s filmography includes many popular hits. She has rendered her voice for popular movies like Waisa Bhi Hota Hai, Mr Ya Miss, Zindaa, The Great Indian Butterfly etc. In June 2015, she was invited by the “Indian ambassador in Indonesia” to perform at the Sahabat India Festival held in Jakarta. Same month she was a speaker at the Ted Talk “TEDx Walled City” held in Delhi. She has also performed for the Independence Day celebrations of Mauritius in 2013.
Her International performance includes her shows in Malaysia, New York and also in Chicago. She was a performer for opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games held in Delhi. She is India’s only female guitarist to endorse an international brand. She also performed in Worli Festival-2018 which was witnessed by more than 5,000 people. She recently released her new single “Wanna Be Free” feat Bollywood actress Richa Chadda.
