Bengaluru: BJP trying to snatch 20 legislators through Operation Lotus

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Sep 11: BJP is understood to have launched a major offensive by way of 'Operation Lotus' in the state to cause the downfall of the coalition government. This time, its target happens to be 20 MLAs.

The plan is to attract 12 MLAs with the support of Jarkiholi brothers who are said to be disgruntled over the recent developments in Belagavi district. On the other hand, Yeddyurappa is involved with behind-the-scene manoeuvres to get support of eight legislators owing allegiance to other parties. The plan is to put together a minimum of 16 legislators so that the coalition government can be floored.

Yeddyurappa

The BJP hopes to bank prominently on the anger of Jarkiholi brothers relating to PLD bank election in their home district. Reportedly, Balachandra Jarkiholi, who has been identified with the BJP, is acting as mediator between the two sides to conjure up the magic numbers required.

It is gathered that Yeddyurappa has convinced the national leadership of the party for this move by saying that his dream of becoming chief minister will come true only if the coalition government crashes before the Lok Sabha election. However, there is a hitch in the form of state leaders, former deputy chief ministers, Ashok and Eshwarappa and former chief minister, Jagadish Shettar, who have remained aloof without doing anything to favour this move. Realizing this situation, some Congress and JD(S) leaders have meet BJP legislators and offered them posts of ministers. It is a huge task to get support of 16 MLAs, the BJP national leadership knows.

There have been rumours that Ramesh Jarkiholi met Maharashtra chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, through his relatives in that state and discussed some issues with him. Responding to this allegation, Ramesh Jarkiholi clarified that the coalition government does not face any peril from his family. He said he met the chief minister of Maharashtra, as they have sugar factories in Maharashtra. Jarkiholi family is also aggrieved at the chief minister not transferring the superintendent of police and northern range inspector general of police as per their recommendation, and transfer of certain engineers to some other places by minister, Shivakumar, against their wishes.

Although Jarkiholi brothers were to hold discussions with Sriramulu and Yeddyurappa here on Monday, they could not do so as Sriramulu had by then, left for Ballari. While the Jarkiholi brothers have been eyeing the post of the chief minister, Yeddyurappa is said to have agreed to make one of them deputy chief minister.

Any winning switching side before the complete tenure is against the mandate of the voters. This is the reason we citizens should ask the Election commission of India to amend the 'Representation of the People Act, 1950' through Supreme Court intervention.

I would request the Association Democratic Reforms to file PIL in the Supreme Court to stop this practice in India.

Extravagant election campaigns and opaque funding for political parties are a big contributor to the
rogue economy. Operation Kamala's is one of the reasons of falling economy, slow growth and unstoppable corruption and criminalization of democracy in India.

Here are the proposal for the amendment to Representation of the People Act, 1950
    1. No winning candidate can switch party once elected to the government before the complete tenure of 5 years.
    2. If candidate violates, he and his immediate family members should be banned to contest elections in India.
    3. The party which entertain such candidates should be banned for contesting elections on defected candidates constituency.
    4. The party should be liable for penalty and bear the whole reelection cost.
    5. If party violates to pay the penalty its party fund should be freeze and recover the reelection cost.

The BJP Karnataka party president Yedurappa has already cut short two days Delhi party convention. From the inner circle of the party Amit Shah has already given green signal to form the government in Karnataka once JD(S)-Congress falls majority before the Lok Sabha elections. The party is desperate to form government in Karnataka which considered as southward journey.

Our people must analyse all these petty and cheap actions! How much time & money they spend on these and we happily elect them and they make us all fools. Hope and pray at least in 2019 voters will have to be wise and masters no longer to remain only praising dolls.

Poor old man Yeddy! He is itching to occupy the CM's chair because he can't wait to serve the people of the state. It is as though the remainder of his life is dedicated to the service of Karnataka.

What lofty thoughts my God! He will try every trick in the trade to fulfill his ambition of coming to power in the second innings.

Of course, it is another matter that he was sent packing to the jail in his first innings because of widespread looting. Isn't it Mr. Qaidi No. 420?

But this time he could be lucky, Justice Santhosh Hegde is no longer the Lokayukth. Justice Hegde's name would be enough to shiver shivers down the spine of this shameless man.

Instead of sitting in opposition and playing the role of opposition party in this democratic country the power hungry BJP is trying to pull down the govt. What a shame .

It seems Yeddy has the blessing and permission from so called AACHHE DIN LEADERS central leaders . They will not succeed. Even unfortunately if such thing happens they will bite dust during 2019.

Once CM, he can not live without the post! He wants to be CM for ever. Such opportunists should not be entertained. It will be cunning affair when he is not supported by election results.

God save Karnataka from old greedy soul. HDK is doing a fair job, then why he should be desperate?

Having failed in their crude attempts with the help og Governor giving them fifteen days to indulge in Horse trading, Yeddy is desperate to stage a coup with money , muscle power and with the help of IT, CBI and Enforcement directorate Aas each day that passes makes him a Has Been given his ripe age of over 70 years.

The pubic sentiment is against the BJP ansd any such attempts will only isolate the BJP completely.

Yeddy didn't allow his own Government to function and it's natural that his dream of becoming CM is only through these means!. He can never become CM on his own through election again!!!!. But one thing I am sure, his longing for CM post by any means says that it is not to serve people of Karnataka but for some sinister motives!

I am really pained at the turn of political events in my State.
    Nobody is bothered about Governance.
With a fractured mandate all things like these were bound to happen.
Rather than ruling energies will be concentrated on retaining or seizing power!
All of You remember the horrendous statements of our present CM after he took oath ? That he was obliged only to Congress and not to the people of Karnataka?
    Now this.
Developments will only be on these fronts!
In midst of all these foreign trips by broker ,Coordinator ,Global Warming workshop to be attended by Deputy Chief Minister.
    Very sad state of affairs.
