Mangaluru, Aug 30: After two days of hard fought battles, 80 winners across eight classes (under 8 open/girls, open 10 open/girls, open 12 open/girls, open 15 open/girls) emerged winners in the second edition of Forum Chess Wiz 2018 competition in association with Derik’s Chess School sponsored by McDonalds and Indian terrain.

The competition was an opportunity for students to exercise their brains and compete in both Open and Girls categories. The competition was conducted in the Swiss League Format and all participants had to earn maximum points in 8 and 6 rounds to be adjudged winners.

Siddhanth, MsAvani, Aatish, Manasa, Dheenram, Mitali, Akanksh, Arushi took the top honours along with gifts worth Rs 1,20,000.

The event was organised on August 25 and 26.

Sunil K S, marketing manager, Forum Fiza Mall thanked all the participants and personally acknowledged all the parents for facilitating their presence. “Every time the event has seen an unprecedented uplift in terms of registration, this year we have seen 1,400 plus students registering for this event which shows their eagerness to compete in this truly record breaking event.”
