Hassan: Minister Revanna's arrogant behaviour at relief camp leaves behind bad taste

Daijiworld Media Network - Hassan (SP)

Hassan, Aug 21: Surprisingly, PWD minister of the state, elder brother of the state chief minister, and in-charge minister for this district, H D Revanna, gave ample evidence of his arrogance when he threw biscuit packets towards flood-affected people at the relief camp which he visited to provide them succour.

The incident happened at Ramanathpura in the district on Sunday August 20. Hundreds of affected people are sheltered in relief camps at various places including Ramanathpura. The minister's inhuman behaviour came in for strong criticism.

Revanna, who has been concentrating on flood relief work at his home district and Kodagu, had also announced that Hassan mega milk dairy, of which he is the president, would provide 50,000 litres of milk to the flood-affected families. He has kept his word and supplied milk and dairy products to the affected people.

During the visit to Ramanathpura relief camp on Sunday, Revanna was accompanied by MLA, A T Ramaswamy. Except a couple of people, he tossed biscuit packets to everyone in an arrogant manner before going back.

MP, Shobha Karandlaje, said that Revanna has shown to the world that he lacks seriousness, concern and humane attitude by throwing biscuit and milk powder packets towards the poor, flood-affected people sheltered in the relief camp.

I am surprised to see that our congress has no guts to criticise Repanna on his arrogant behaviour. I thing HDD and his family think that they are super humans and never get any problems in life. Day will come when this fellow can not swallow a single bit of food due to the curse of people.

This incidence also reminds me of footage of deposed and exiled dictator Yahya Jimmeh throwing tiny sweets on both sides of his motorcade while passing through crowded dusty streets in Gambia.

Frankly speaking, our so called leaders from all parties are not role models of any kind, that the present and future generation would like to emulate!!

Mr. Minister! When whole of media was focusing on flood situation in Kerala, when few unhappy souls politically protested and raised slogans against less funds, the people of Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Hassan suffered a lot silently. The loss to the region is beyond words. It is the region which sends maximum number of soldiers from South India to serve the country. In fact it is the region of true warriors!
Not all are lucky to be born as Ex PM of India. Not all are lucky to be brother of current CM. Not all are lucky to get ministership, despite of party getting low seats. Not all are lucky to be born in a rich and political family.
It really hurts us to see you are throwing biscuits to flood victims like dogs! I think these innocent affected souls deserve better. If you had any medical or social problem which prevented you from distributing food in a decent way, you could have asked some other volunteers to do the same!
Kindly try to understand the pain of poverty and suffering of victims. Good luck sir! Wish you all the best! May God bless you!!

    @Dr.Dinesh,
    Well said.

Not t a single day passes without seeing Revanna in bad light ien he media.
You have well said about the plight of our own people suffering silently, and that we are sidelined while only Kerala is in the limelight.
Here in Kuwait, I was able to bring this fact to the attention of so many people as well.
Karnataka leaders, media persons, DC, govt. officials, must use the media to high light the issue, and succeed in getting Central, State govt. aid to affected people, as quickly as possible.

Other than the comments on Revanna, who also kept his promise, am yet to hear any positive works of Kateel and Shobakka as of now.

    God bless karnataka, Jai Hin!!!!

The way the crowd were behaving Revanna had no choice but to make sure people behind too got the biscuits.

Even Military s food from helicopters under such situations. HD Revanna had to take stock of many issues other than just biscuits.

Even when CM did not visit one layout people were annoyed. It all makes a difference when such high profiled politicians reach out to them.

Easy to criticise, but where were the elected BJP Representatives of that area? It is a measure that Revanna could take at the earliest
