CS student hangs self during WhatsApp chat with friend

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IANS): A 21-year-old student pursuing a Company Secretary (CS) course committed suicide during a video chat on Whatsapp with her male friend in north Delhi, police said on Monday. The man has been booked for abetment to suicide.

Shivani Sharma had arguments with her friend during a WhatsApp video conversation and hanged herself with a sash from a ceiling fan at her house in New Usmanpur area late Saturday night, police added.

"While Sharma was taking the extreme step, her friend called up her father -- who has a shop on the ground floor of the house. He ran upstairs but by the time he reached her room, Shivani had hanged herself," Deputy Commissioner of Police Atul Kumar Thakur said.

The woman was taken to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead on arrival.

"We have seized her mobile phone and sent it for forensics analysis to extract the video footage of the incident. An FIR has been registered against her friend for abetment of suicide," Thakur added.

People who die just because love failed are really brainless people.... if one person cheats... life will not end.. you might get someone most trustworthy in future... what will you do by marrying a person who is not trustable.... incase if you marry it will be for few days.. then there will be fights again and end of love story... now a days these young generation also require some extra education on life aswell... just school, college books are not sufficient... she should have thought for atleast 1 minute about her parents...

It's quite frustrating to read these kinds of news. Suicide over love is stupid. Why can't people realise that there is more to life than "Love failure"?
It's quite foolish of Delhi police to book her "Alleged Friend" on abetment to suicide. Imagine if it was a girl who was responsible for the suicide? Then the boy who committed suicide will probably be called names like "Psycho" "Lost his mental balance" "Stalker" etc.
Anyway, condolences to the girl's family. I still think it was foolish of the girl to do this. You don't like someone, block him from your life. Ending your life over as much as your crush is not worth it.
