Mangaluru: Lancy D’Cunha re-elected president of All India Catholic Union

Mangaluru, Aug 20: In biennial elections held at the annual general body meeting on Sunday, August 19, Lancy D’Cunha from Mangaluru was unanimously re-elected as national president of All India Catholic Union (AICU) for a second term till 2020.

The current national vice-president, Elias Vaz from Goa was also re-elected for a second term. The two will lead the Union in the centennial celebrations which will culminate with the national programme in New Delhi in 2019.

Programmes have been planned for every state and every diocese, reaching their crescendo by July-August next year.

The 99-year-old AICU is one of the biggest lay Catholic organisations in the world.
