Bengaluru, Aug 17: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has constituted three teams to tour the flood hit areas of the state and submit a report to take up effective relief and rehabilitation works.

KPCC President Dinesh Gundu Rao constituted three teams of observers for the purpose.

The first team headed by Mittu Chengappa would tour Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi districts while the second team under the leadership of former minister B K Chandrashekar would head to Mysuru, Kodagu and Chamarajanagar districts. The third team headed by Venkatamuniyappa would tour Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts.

“The Congress party has always identified itself with people who are in distress and tried to ameliorate their plight. The three teams of party observers will start immediately and reach out to floor hit people,’’ Rao said.

The heavy rains and floods has caused heavy damage to roads, communication systems, houses, schools and crops.

The teams will listen to the grievances of the people, instill confidence among them, help in improving the relief and rehabilitation works, Rao said.
