Mangaluru: Mahesh PU College celebrates Independence Day

Mangaluru, Aug 17: “Know what is right and wrong in life, stand upright for what is right and bow your head to the motherland,” said retired Capt Deepak Adyantaya.

He was speaking as the chief guest in 72nd Indian Independence Day celebrations by Mahesh PU College here.

“When we work with dedication and sincerity we can obtain peak results. Let sincerity, dedication and straight talk be an indivisible part of our lives,” he said to the students while wishing them on Independence Day.



“We should love our mother and country first. We should be prepared to sacrifice anything for them. The independence that we received for the country is due to the sacrifice by our soldiers and several noble men. It is a result of love and sacrifice. It is our duty to recollect those who served the country and respect them and inculcate their values in our lives,” said college director and principal Dr Navin Shetty K who chaired the programme.

Students Mohammed Zubek and Nishanth gave Independence Day message. Retired Capt Deepak Adyantaya who served in Indian Army was honoured on behalf of the college.

College administrator Anil Mascarenhas, Narasimha Bhat, programme organizer Austin D'Souza, Dr Mohammed Nazim, Dr Santhosh Mascarenhas, professor and secretary of the sangha, Yashaswini were present.

Student Sridev welcomed the gathering. Mahesh high school headmistress Deepali Shenoy thanked all.
