Modi promises all help to Kerala CM

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IANS): Prime Minister Narednra Modi on Wednesday spoke to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on phone and took stock of the flood situation in the state, besides assuring him of providing "any assistance needed".

"Had a detailed discussion with Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan regarding the unfortunate flood situation in the state. Centre stands firmly with the people of Kerala and is ready to provide any assistance needed," Modi tweeted.

In Kerala, large areas have been inundated by floodwaters, claiming 58 lives since August 8, due to heavy rain and landslides. Incessant rains battered the state again on Wednesday resulting in 19 more deaths and further destruction, forcing the authorities to issue a red alert across the southern state.

    Modi, you are not helping to Kerala. You are the employee of the Indian Government to do your work. It may happen any part of India and being Prime Minister you should be the Prime source to comfort and care for all. Please do not talk, put in action. Keralities too are Indian Citizens.

    HDK promised to waive farmers lian from his pocket? 0it is from our tax paid money.
    P M never said he is giving he said "my Govt" see the difference. HDK was for begging votes said he will waive loans within 24 hrs of taking charge now it is almost 3 months and still under consideration and with a lot of conditions

    If Karnataka can afford to waive its farmers' debt, why not Kerala ? Isn't Kerala collecting tax from its people ? Did the state ask for central funds ? How come Modi gives to Kerala out of his will ? Why not wait till the state runs out of revenue and then the central govt offers to help ?

    Why are you celebrating anyway ? Are you a Kannadiga, or a Keralite ?
