Puttur: Netravati and Kumaradhara rivers unite at the main entrance of temple

Puttur, Aug 15: The water from Netravati, which flew from the left side of the historically famous Uppinangady Sri Sahasralingeshwara - Mahakali temple and the water from Kumaradhara that gushed from the right side of the temple met at the main entrance and created a unique 'Sangama' at 9.50 pm on Tuesday, August 14.

The devotees and public, who were awaiting this magical moment right from the morning, cheered loudly as water from both rivers met together. After this meeting of rivers a 'Sangama Pooja' was held and the devotees took bath in the merged water of both rivers.

The level of water in both the rivers is continuously rising and people of Carstreet of Uppinangady near here and the people living on the basin of these rivers are in danger. Many have got displaced from their houses and have taken shelter in higher areas.
