Chikkaballapur, Aug 12: “It is decided to draw drinking water to dry lands from Yettinahole project through open canals instead of pipeline. If that is done, water can be drawn within three months,” said minister for Water Resources D K Shivakumar.
Speaking on the side lines of a programme here, he said that this new idea is required for speedy implementation of the project. “Department of energy and our departments have made preparations to bring a new law to prevent residents nearby from drawing water from the canals through pump sets,” he said.
