Bengaluru: Congress-JD(S) set to poach 10 BJP MLAs to counter ‘Operation Lotus’

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (DC)

Bengaluru, Aug 11: When there are reports of BJP trying to poach legislators from other parties with money and other promises under ‘Operation Kamala’, also called ‘Operation Lotus’, the Congress-JD(S) combine too has been trying to woo as many as 10 MLAs from the BJP, as per reports.

Following poaching attempts by the BJP, the leaders from the Congress and the JD(S) are planning to counter attack the BJP strategy and have already tried to poach 10 MLAs from the BJP, say sources.

Both the parties have held first round of talks with the BJP MLAs and if they are ready to switch sides, then chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and minister D K Shivakumar would be meeting them personally.

The leaders are waiting for the reply of AICC president Rahul Gandhi and JD(S) national president Deve Gowda to carry out Operation Congress and JD(S). The operation will begin as soon as the high command gives a green signal.

Who are being poached?

The Congress-JD(S) combine have been trying to poach those MLAs joined the BJP after leaving their parties and won in the polls. Dr S Shivaraj Patil from Raichur, Gulihatti Shekhar from Hosadurga, Tippa Reddy from Chitradurga, K Shivanagowda from Devadurga, M S Somalingappa from Siraguppa, Chandrappa from Holalkere, Linganna from Mayakonda, Poornima from Hiriyur, S V Ramachandra from Jagalur and Subhash Guttedar from Alanda are the people who are in this list.

Some MLAs have been even offered ministerial berth and others have been assured of giving cabinet ranks and posts in the boards.

Out of the ten MLAs, four have been either already poached or have been approached by the JD(S) and the remaining six by the Congress.

Meanwhile, CM H D Kumaraswamy and DCM G Parameshwara, ministers D K Shivakumar and H D Revanna have been responding to the pleas of BJP MLAs. Those MLAs who maintain cordial relations, Kumaraswamy and D K Shivakumar have personally spoken to them.

If the coalition government falls, the state will have to go for polls once again. Even BJP MLAs do not want this. Hence the Congress and the JD(S) have been trying to make use of the situation and poach as many MLAs as possible.

Meanwhile, H D Revanna said, "Over 20 MLAs from the BJP are ready to join the JD(S). But we are only keeping quiet instead of poaching them. In 2008, the BJP which had 110 strength, it carried out Operation Lotus and poached MLAs from the Congress and the JD(S). We do not need such politics. If BJP MLAs join JD(S), B S Yeddyurappa will be upset. Let him be happy for few more days. Hence we have asked the BJP MLAs not to join JD(S)."

This means our representatives are up for sale.

They are proving time and again that they are ready for sale.

They demonstrated it with BJP earlier and now they are ready to demonstrate with Cong and JDS.

For parties and these representatives it matters only power and money. Hang on power by hook or crook.

    Wonderful idea.
If both beard fellows think they are smart at Delhi by using the old tired horse Yeddiyurappa then, then Kannadiga's too are smart.
No one can ever clap from one hand.
If DAAKHU & FEKHU have stashed crores of rupees by means of Demonetisation exercise (which is the biggest scam of the century in Indian political history) and trying to destabilise the Karnataka government, then they have to remember Atal Bihari Vajapai's "India Shining" and it's consequences and the same fate they are going to reap in 2019 by means of "Make in India".
Time is running out for 2019.
If BJP has the guts to do this dirty politics by means of poor Indians Demonetisation curse money, then they should do it now.

Indian People cannot be fooled by Modiji all the times!!!

Lies to the core, first and foremost, the legislator who defects has to resign, otherwise he can be barred from contesting any election for 6 years as per anti defection law, this applies only when less than 1/3 of the total elected legislator defect from a particular party. Secondly where is the scope to expand the cabinet only 6 vaccancies exist. Lastly 1/3 in case of BJP is 31 legislators. A big number I don't think so many idiots are there to accept Rahul Gandhi as their leafer

    Arge
It is called operation khangress /appa maga. There is no question of 2/3 the particular MLA will resign from his seat and when reelection is held same MLA will contest from other party to which he has joined. Actually BJP is trying hard to do this trick with other two parties as their requirement is just 18-21 MLA s. When so many members resign the strength of house will be down to below 203-206 and majority will be 103 where as BJP has 104. To counter this the ruling coilation is spreading the rumour that some BJP s r trying to leav
All depends upon local body election result

To be honest - What BJP propagated to grab power, is being put to practice by the CONG-JDS combine. Mr. Shah should not split his brains, keep one part only for Karnataka. There are more intelligent politicians there than in Gujarat. Good luck.

Really we have shameless politicians and ministers. How they can poach or trade with the people`s representatives. This is how they teach corruption to public. There may be very few who really bother about the people and problems of his constituency all rest are selfish minded ones. People of the constituency should not allow their representatives to switch parties and it is a case of cheating .

In politics, who ever hits first is the winner. " Kar-Natak" time for Karnataka politics, time to watch the legislator purchase game.
