Mangaluru: No interference in Shiroor Swamiji death investigation - DCM

Mangaluru, Aug 11: Deputy chief minister and home minister Dr G Parameshwar on Friday, August 10, said that the government will not interfere in the investigation of Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, who died recently.

Udupi police are conducting investigation on the death of Swamiji.

He was speaking to reporters here on his way to Bhatkal.

“About the rituals at the Math also, the police will come to a decision based on many developments and factors. The government will not influence the police to take any decisions,” he added.

When asked about the progress in Gauri Lankesh murder case, he said that the investigation has reached the final stage and police will share the details once the investigation is over.
