Mangaluru: MIA funds Anganwadi construction at Malavoor as part of CSR

Mangaluru, Aug 10: Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) in line with Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative has constructed an Anganwadi centre in Malavoor village as part of the Integrated Child Development Services programme to combat child hunger and malnutrition.

Children from SC, ST and other backward communities as well as from BPL families can avail services of the Anganwadi. The construction of the new Anganwadi will cost around Rs 15.64 lac and will be funded by the AAI.

In a programme held on August 10, Friday at the Malavoor panchayat premises, airport director V V Rao handed over the cheque to president of Malavoor gram panchayat to start the construction of the new Anganwadi.

The construction work will be managed by the panchayat raj engineering division and the gram panchayat president will be in-charge of the overall maintenance.
