Beltangady: Vehicle transporting cattle overturns after chased by police

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (DC)

Beltangady, Aug 10: A tempo transporting stolen cows tried to escape from the police defying their instruction to stop and overturned here near Arthil in Sonandur village near Madanthyar on Thursday August 9.

Jainu alias Jainuddin and Arafa, residents of Ammemar with three others were reportedly transporting stolen cows to Bantwal.

On getting credible information, police signalled the tempo to stop near Guruvayanakere. But the cattle transporters tried to escape. While being chased by the police, driver Farooq lost control and the tempo fell into a drain.

Meanwhile, the police rescued 6 cows transported in an inhumane way in the tempo.

All the five accused managed to flee from the spot.

Cattle worth Rs 20,000 and the tempo worth Rs 4 lacs have been recovered.

A case has been registered at Punjalkatte police station.

by reading this news & comments of DW readers, it is presumed that in coming days cow theft will become common job for some people & no arrest or case will be booked against these people. if they arrested or FIR is filed against them then some people may protest against that.

In most of the cases...when caught then it is stolen, if not caught then it was a successful deal between the buyer and the seller.

There is a element of stubbornness in this cattle theft business, and this is a social problem and should be discussed with community leaders.
majority of traditional meat vendors belong to unorganized sector in small cities and villages.
now being out of business, they are desperately defending their traditional profession, which they never considered illegal.
This is a example of complete failure of social and political leadership in society.

I kindly suggest and humbly request Deputy Commissioners of the twin districts to issue permits to cattle slaughter houses in each and every Taluks.

Presently we have only one cattle slaughter house in Mangalore for the whole of South Kanara District (D.K. District) due to which illegal slaughter houses have been cropped up.

When there is Akrama Sakrama for the Land, Why not implement Illegal cattle slaughter houses to be made legal/Sakrama.

    1) BELTHANGADY - NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
    2) SULLIA - NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
    3) BANTWAL - NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
    4) PUTTUR - NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE
    5) MOODBIDRI - NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE.
6)KADABA – NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE.

I AM NOT VERY SURE WHETHER CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE IS EXISTS IN UDUPI DISTRICT.
    1) KARKALA – IF NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE SHOULD BE OPEND IMMEDIATELY.
    2) KUNDAPUR - IF NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE SHOULD BE OPEND IMMEDIATELY.
    3) BYNDOOR – NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE (PROPOSED TALUK)
    4) BRAHMAVARA – NO CATTLE SLAUGHTER HOUSE (PROPOSED TALUK)

Due to only one Cattle Slaughter House in Mangalore heavy to heavy burden on one and transportation of Cattle to-and-fro to all these Taluks increases the prices of meat.

Presently beef price with bone is Rs.240/= and for boneless is 300/= in Mangalore costing very high and inflation rises due to very to very high prices for meat in the market.

I urge the state Government to increase cattle population so as to meet the demand of beef meat
With the increase in the cattle population there will be plenty of Milk and Plenty of meat to the meat eaters. The cow theft cases will decrease/vanish in no time when there is plenty of cattle for slaughtering.
SEE THE RESULTS AFTER ISSUING PERMITS TO EACH AND EVERY TALUKS IN THE TWIN DISTRICTS, THE PRICES OF MEAT WILL FALL LIKE THE ECONOMY OF INDIA HAS FALLEN LIKE A PACK OF CARDS.
TO THOSE VEGETARIANS I URGE THEM DON’T GET INTO TEMPTED TO EAT THE MEAT.

    NO ROBBING OF CATTLE WHATSOEVER.

I have not seen any cattle farms, some farmers are selling cattle because they don't have proper resources to feed them and take care. This shows cattle farm is not profitable and nobody wants to grow cattle for slaughtering. If there is a cattle farm and slaughtering is made legal, then price of beef will touch gold value. So the easy option is to steal cows and destroy other peoples lives.

    Dear Mahi, Mangalore,

Presently here is a good profit in the Cattle Farm.

Milk only was not profitable business in the olden days and Dung was also not much profitable earlier.

Presently, milk and the dung has good price plus selling the cattle to butchers is very much profitable.

CATTLE FARM FOR EXCLUSIVELY FOR SELLING IS MUCH PROFITABLE PROVIDED THEY SHOULD HAVE SOME LAND FOR PASTURE OR TO GROW THE GRASS.

NOW A DAYS THERE IS GOOD PROFIT IN THE CATTLE BUSINESS, MILK AND FOR THE DUNG.

Not only Cattle Farm is profitable, Sheep, goat and Piggery is profitable.

    The problem is with Labour.

Most of these people are roaming with V.H.P., B.D. and H.J.V.

If they come to work everything will be profitable.

SO fast the driver was to come out form the overturned vechile & to run away . If polices were chasing what was the distance between Police vehicle & the transport vehicle... ??
SO when the Transport vechile overturned the police still didn't reach the spot that means the driver and his associates had enough time to escape...

No baba, no. Please don't encourage anybody to eat pork. We people who eat only can't afford to buy one kilo pork which is 250 /- . Give them Chicken or Mutton. Also I think these cows are sold to these people by their owners, when they are become old and tight lipped when transporters are caught.

This particular incident is the proof that the Congress government is not supporting illegal cattle trafficking.

BJP just for their political mileage is creating a scene by attacking the illegal traffickers of cattle.

Instead they can pass on the information to the Police and let the law handle it.

But BJP wants Vote in the name of Cows.....
