Jet flight shoots off runway at Riyadh, no casualties


Riyadh, Aug 3 (IANS): A Jet Airways Riyadh-Mumbai flight departed the runway after an aborted take off early on Friday, an official said here.

The incident affected flight 9W523 with 142 passenger and seven crew members. There were no casualties or injuries.

All aboard the Boeing B737-800 aircraft of the private carrier were safely evacuated and accommodated inside the terminal building.

The airline is working out alternate travel arrangements for the passengers from Riyadh.

Jet Airways has reported the matter to the India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation and is fully cooperating with all concerned authorities.

It added that the airline's operations across the network, including its other services from and to Riyadh, remain unaffected.

    Many Doctors, Pilots etc are kids from super rich families! they dont have good academic records but can pay huge sums of money and get admissions in Private hospitals and flying schools!. Bright but poor kids cant pay that money and will go for menial jobs!. Just like reservation, this is also a tragedy of this country!!!. Just money counts!. Thats why we are servicing the world but cant innovate!!!

    What rubblish? Comparing bus drivers to pilots? G.R. Prabhu..did you count number of accidents by pilots and those committed by bus drivers??? Don't blame the pilots without knowing the truth in this case.
