Mangaluru Jul 21: A man drowned in a swimming pool on Sunday, July 22, at Montepadavu near here.

Mohammed Khalil (30) is the person deceased. He worked as coolie at market in Mangaluru city.

Mohammed had gone to a swimming pool at Montepadavu with his brother and five friends after visit to his relative at Manjanady. While swimming, he was trapped in the silt of the swimming pool. His body was retrieved after half an hour.

The swimming pool, belonging to a person named Abbas, is used by many swimmers who visit there especially during weekends. It is said that there is a small swimming pool for children also next to it. Fee is also charged for swimming, but no lifeguard is provided,

Konaje police have registered a case.

    how these people got license or permission from authority without fulfilling any criteria of safe guard and any other safety measure. my request is to take strict against owner and authority who allow them to run the swimming pool.

    Criminals have no religion Mr. Ivar....................The CCB police arrested Keshav Sanil (47), resident Krishnapura, Katipalla. They have confiscated 1.830 kg of ganja, a mobile phone and the car from the accused. The value of all the items that are confiscated is Rs 2,85,500. It is said that the arrested accused had purchased the ganja from a person of Kerala origin in order to sell the same in the city.

    Who gave the permission to this pool? How come authorities allow such pools to operate?, one more appeasement politics and the owner is eligible for bidugade bhagya?
    He could have gone to Corporation pool at Lady hill and saved his life.
