Mangaluru: Diesel, furnace oil theft from tankers - one held during raid

Mangaluru, Jul 21: City crime branch (CCB) police from here, on Friday July 20, raided a spot at Bala within the limits of Suratkal police station where diesel and furnace oil was found to have been illegally stored. They took into possession diesel, furnace oil, and some other items from the spot.

The police had information that stolen diesel, furnace oil etc were being stored at Bala. CCB police, in a joint operation with the support of Suratkal police, conducted the said raid. During the raid, a person named Santosh (36), was taken into custody. Ten barrels of furnace oil, two barrels of diesel, two two-wheelers, and some other assets found at the spot were confiscated.

The total worth of the items so confiscated has been estimated at Rs 20 lac. It is learnt that the accused arrested used to enter into understanding with the drivers of tankers loaded with diesel and furnace oil arriving from Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd, and steal these items from the tankers. He later sold these items in the black market, it is said. About this, a case was registered in Suratkal police station.

CCB police inspector, Shantharam, police sub-inspectors, Shyam Sundar and Kabbalraj, as well as Suratkal police inspector, K G Ramakrishna, took part in the raid.

    When one sees hier,can make out how dirty htis place is,Iam not speaking of some dirt,but the oil or some chemicals have spilled on earth is very dangerous to the ground water.when it sickers in erd,,ground water will be mixed with toxic chemicals ,fish die and people eating fish too will be sick.water self is contaminated,is again sickness with cancer ,luecaemia etc.second animals, ,in one word,everything around you is contaminated.punish these goondas,thinking of money not humanity,and where is our swatch bharat?
