BJP moves privilege motion against Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Jul 20 (IANS): Targeting Congress President Rahul Gandhi for levelling "baseless allegations" against the government on the Rafale deal in his speech during the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha on Friday, the BJP has moved a privilege motion against him.

"While participating in the discussion, he made serious, baseless and wild allegations against the government and particularly against the Prime Minister with regard to Rafale deal," said a statement from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Prahlad Joshi.

Gandhi, during his speech, said the price per plane during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime was Rs 520 crore but when Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to France and due to "some magic powers", the price per plane rose to Rs 1,600 crore.

"He (Gandhi) stated that under pressure from the PM, (Defence Minister) Nirmala Sitharaman told lies to the nation. He further alleged that the PM cheated his own army on dealing with China on Doklam issue," it added.

"...(Rahul Gandhi's) statement was baseless, malicious and amounting to bring disrepute to the PM and the Defence Minister, it was made to mislead the Members and the House," it noted.

    Rahul invariably falls into the traps set by BJP.
    He doesn't understand the difference between a Govt-Govt deal as in Rafael and Govt-Private contractor deal as in Bofors.
    He made such a fool oh himself today in parliament which was telecast live and watched by people all over india.
    some senior leader in congress should advice him as to how to talk.
    He is the president of congress party, not some regional party.

    Mr Modi please speak out the contract terms and conditions. Nation wants to know. Even in Parliament if the President of the National Party cannot seek details and it is considered a breach of privilege then God only should save this nation.

    Every Citizen/ the tax payer of the Country has the right to ask for what the government is spending from out tax paid money.

    We, the Nationals are capable to keep National secrets.

    The BJP is selling our land to Bangladesh and secrets to Pakistan.

    Why the French President is reacting in this case.

    Rahul Gandhiji was speaking in the Parliament in a Not trust vote against the Government and not against the French Goverment

    As per your great Subramanian Swamy, Dassault ( Company that manufactures Rafale) would've closed the shop if not for India's purchase order, as there was no demand for Rafale which as per Swamy was the worst aircraft in the world. As for the secrecy clause, it's not about pricing and pricing is the one that the nation wants to know just to rule out the violation of the tall claim ' Na Khawoonga na Khane doonga'.

    Which means BJP wants Rahul Gandhi to observe Moun Vrath as BJP was doing to opposition during Q&A period. Moun Vrath is supreme it absolves everything by present ruling govt so don't ask don't say policy. A new innovative BJP policy.

    This Karthik Karekara from Mary Hill is a big joker, who is not aware of the Raffel deal as well as wdl removed from HAL and given to Ambani who has no knowledge of defence works. It is a great tradgey that India is ruled by such fools.

    The price of the plane is out in the open for everyone to see..Mr.Karthik karkera you must prove the allegations false..The onus is on you..Don't just make lame statements.Calling Rahul Gandhi a Joker doesn't prove the allegations false..
