Mangaluru: Two ganja peddlers arrested from Gurpur

Mangaluru, Jul 20: The Bajpe police, on Thursday July 19, arrested two alleged ganja peddlers from near Alaigudde in Gurpur. 55 grams of ganja valued at about Rs 5,000, a Maruti Alto car worth Rs 80,000, and a Honda Activa two-wheeler were taken into possession by them.

The arrested youngsters have been identified as Ravi alias Tikki Ravi (34) from Rajaji Nagar Bengaluru, and Sandeep (32) from Alaigudde, Gurpur in the taluk. Both of them were earlier booked for different crimes.

Ravi faces 11 cases in Urwa, Barke, Kadri, Bunder, Kavoor and Bajpe police stations. Sandeep has several cases against him in Kavoor and rural police stations here.

It is said that Muhammed Rafiq from Natekal supplies ganja to them. The police are now trying to arrest Rafiq.

The operation was conducted by Bajpe police inspector, Parashivamurthy, and other personnel of his station.
