Mangaluru, Jul 19: A person named Abaan (30) was arrested by police in the city. He has been accused of kidnapping three differently abled girls from a single Mysuru-based family and using them to satiate his sexual desires.

The girls who belong to a poor family are aged 15, 17 and 18. They are all differently abled and have been undergoing treatment at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bengaluru. The family being very poor, found it hard to provide treatment to the girls. It is said that some people who realized that the family was in no position to provide treatment to their children, took the girls away to different parts of the state in the last two years in the guise of helping them. Reportedly during these occasions, the girls were used sexually.

A Mysuru-based non-governmental organization, Odanadi, had come to know that these girls had gone missing and had not returned to their family since long. It thereafter filed a complaint at Udayagiri police station, Mysuru on the missing girls. Police from Mysuru, who gathered information that the girls had travelled to the city in an operation, arrested accused Abaan (30) from the bus stand here. The police claim that since the last two years the accused in association with some others, had taken these girls to various spots and sexually abused them.
