Udupi, Jul 19: The department of public instruction has suspended an assistant teacher for transgressing the departmental order. It is learnt that she had been deployed to another school but she had steadfastly overlooked her transfer order.

Sandhyasaraswati, an assistant teacher working in the high school section of the government PU college at Padubidri had been deployed to the government high school at Muloor near Kaup, about a month back. The teacher did not to obey the order. The education officer personally visited the school on June 30, and reportedly directed the teacher to report for duties at the transferee school by July 2 but the teacher resisted this order too.

As the teacher has exposed herself to disciplinary action of the department because of insubordination, the department issued order on July 17, suspending her from service. Deputy director of public instructions of the district, Sheshashayana Karinja, said that if the teacher refuses to abide by this order too she will face more stringent disciplinary action.
