Mangaluru: NSUI protests demanding free bus pass for students of all segments of society

Mangaluru, Jul 19: "Former chief minister Siddaramaiah proposed a historical scheme for the students in the budget by making the free bus pass facility, that was available only to economically and socially backward students of the society, available to students of all segments of the society.

"Now the coalition government of Congress and JD (S) has cancelled the same citing shortage of funds. This has caused inconvenience to rural students. This early scheme needs to be implented soon," said the Dakshina Kannada district committee of NSUI during their protest on this issue at Mangaluru.

Abdulla Binnu, district president of NSUI, Rahiman, chief secretary, Shashank Poojary, Prashant Kumar, Farookh, Jeevan Lobo and Batish were present. Sawad Sullia, district chief secretary welcomed the gathering.
