Kasargod: Woman takes away child's life by throwing it into well

Kasargod, Jul 19: In a heart-touching incident which happened at Eriyal in the outskirts of the town, a mother killed her 18-month-old baby by throwing it into a well. The incident happened on the evening of Wednesday July 18.

Allegedly, Naseema from Eriyall Vellur committed this barbaric act. At about 3 pm on Wednesday, Naseema reportedly tossed her daughter, Shamna, into the well of an individual living near her home. The locals, who came to know about the incident, rescued the child from the well and rushed it to the government hospital here. But by then, the baby had lost its life.

It is gathered that Naseema has been suffering from mental disability. It is guessed that she resorted to this act in a disturbed mental state.

A case about this incident was registered in the town police station here.

    WHY ALL BLAMING THE WOMAN it is clearly written she was not in mental state of mind. this happens mostly after delivery.. Especially when woman is alone and gets stressed. when her husband was knowing mental status of his wife he should have made arrangement for some other caretaker also.

    Men duty doesn't end by just becoming biological fathers.

    Some adults keep on giving birth even though they cannot look after saying Gods gift and make child life miserable in poverty and at times even sell child to begging mafia or child labour mafia..

    Refrain from condemning before you have all the facts. The article itself says she was mentally disturbed. Do you have any idea what kind of pressure having a baby puts on a woman especially when she does not have any support.
