Udupi: Cattle trader Hussainabba murder - ADGP visits, inspects different spots

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jul 18: Criminal investigation department (CID) additional director general of police (ADGP), Charan Reddy, who arrived in the city on Tuesday July 17, undertook inspection of various spots connected with the controversial death of cattle trader Hussainabba from Jokatte, including Hiriadka police station.

Reddy visited Hiriadka police station in the morning and verified documents connected with the case. He then questioned Hussainabba's brother, Ismail, and son, Shahid, in the police station and got their version of the developments leading to the death of Hussainabba.

The places he visited were Shenarabettu in Perdoor village where Bajrang Dal activists reportedly blocked the vehicle in which cattle was being transported, and Hussainabba was attacked, and also the thicket at Kotyaru in Perdoor village where the body of Hussainabba was abandoned.

Reddy returned to Bengaluru after completing the task. District superintendent of police, Laxman Nimbargi, CID deputy superintendent of police and investigating officer of this case, Chandrashekhar, and other officials were present.

Hussainabba had come under attack at the hands of Bajrang Dal activists in the early hours of May 30 this year at Shenarabettu, Perdoor. It is said that he had died when inside the police jeep. The case was transferred to CID on June 13, and investigating officer of the case, Chandrashekhar, has been camping here since June 17 for probing the case.

In a connected development, the district chief and sessions court here, through an order issued on Tuesday, rejected bail application moved by Deepak Hegde from Perdoor, who happens to be one of the accused in the above case. Hegde, currently in judicial custody and lodged in the district prison at Mangaluru, had filed for bail through advocate, Arun Bangera, on June 19. District public prosecutor, Shanthi Bai, had objected to it. On July 13, judge of the court, Venkatesh Naik, who heard arguments and counter arguments, had reserved orders for Tuesday.

Deepak Hegde, it is said, had sold a cow to Hussainabba, and then conveyed information to Bajrang Dal activists about the cattle being transported.

Please note that Hussainabba was a cattle trader. So he buys and sells cattle and why should people jump to the conclusion that he is involved in illegal activity and cattle smuggling? Couple of decades back when people were involved in agriculture, the buffaloes, bulls, cows, she buffaloes were traded by muslims who were called “payreda byarilu”, who used to transport these “payre “ or herds from village to village and buy and sell them. When I look at the picture of Hussainabba, he reminds me of one such trader and I cry inside. What has happened to our coastal districts? Have we lost all humanity and moral bearings?

''Deepak Hegde, it is said, had sold a cow to Hussainabba, and then conveyed information to Bajrang Dal activists about the cattle being transported.''

This is what I have been saying for a long time. Most cattle are not stolen. but sold and then later informed as stolen. With rising hatred of other religious communities, people have lost their humanity.

I am sick of what our place has become.

I respect the sentiments of our brothers, hence cow slaughter to be banned throughout India including the exports. BJP is in power in center and majority of the states, why they do not bring blanket ban on cow slaughter!
The violence is happening not because of the respect they have towards cow, it is only for vote bank. If they really respect cows, then they will not allow hundreds of cows dying in goshaalas without food.

solutions: Beef eaters ( muslims/ cristians/ aadivasis and our Hindus brothers ) should come on street demanding for a cow slaughter ban, and export of ban. (LOHA , LOHE KO KAAT TA HAI)

Deepak Hegde, had sold a cow to Hussainabba, and then conveyed information to Bajrang Dal activists about the cattle being transported. Why did he informed BD, is it because he wanted Beef Sukka on the spot instead of transporting the cattle?
