MLAs' KDP meeting discusses several problems in Kundapur

Kundapur, Jul 17: The KDP meeting of the MLAs was held in taluk panchayat auditorium here on Tuesday, July 17. The meeting was chaired by MLA B M Sukumar Shetty.

Several complaints and suggestions such as need to deploy policemen to control those who cause commotion after drinking alcohol in government hospital, anguish against double standard of forest department officials, orders to government officials for prompt medical treatment, equal facilities to all beneficiaries in the department of agriculture, availability of seeds for sowing, stern action against illegal liquor sale, avoiding bias in distribution of drinking water in Beloor, need to monitor ambulance service in Byndoor hospital and unnecessary presence of men in female wards of Kundapur government hospital were heard in the meeting.

“The vehicle 108 in Siddapur does not have a door,” said zilla panchayat member Rohith Shetty. Zilla panchayat member Gauri Devadiga said that people have to go to private hospital because suitable facilities are not available in Kundapur government hospital. Medical officer Dr Robert Rebello explained that the laboratory in the hospital is well equipped but there is 40% scarcity of staff.

The MLA said that he will personally inspect works of Nirmithi Kendra.

MLA Sukumar Shetty said that people are unable to construct houses due to confusion regarding availability of sand.

“There is an order by the government that compensation should reach heirs within a week of death. Govinda Poojary in Bellala gram has died of natural disaster recently. His file has not reached taluk office yet,” said KDP member Prasanna Kumar Shetty. When the MLA asked the reason, Tahsildar assured that the compensation will be distributed within two days.

MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty, taluk panchayat president Jayashree Mogaveera, Zilla panchayat education standing committee president Babu Shetty, taluk panchayat social justice committee president Narayana K Gujjadi and Taluk panchayat executive official Kiran Padnekar were present.

KDP member Devananda Shetty, Prasannakumar Shetty, Venkataramana H, Prabhu Kennedy Pereira, Tammayya Naika, Chandravathi Shetty and zilla panchayat members were present.
