Mangaluru: Carmel School celebrates patroness’ feast

Mangaluru, Jul 17: Carmel School with great devoutness and pride celebrated the feast of its patroness, Our Lady of Mount Carmel in the school auditorium recently.

The programme was presided over by Sr Sarika, principal. The Radio Video show was scripted and presented verbally and enacted by the students of class X and the Carmel Blossoms. Anam,Khushi, Shazma and Varshitha were the presenters whose conversation imparted a dramatic touch to the programme and kept the listeners bound to the items presented therein.



The show initiated with hymns, prayers and gospel reading accentuating the joyful mysteries. The statue of Mount Carmel was showered with flowers amidst the singing of the hymn ‘We Assembled Here Today’.

Carmel Blossoms presented a one-act play elucidating the history of the feast and thereafter manifesting how a family was salvaged from drowning only through ardent prayers to Our Lady of Mount Carmel and devotion to the scapular.

Thereafter advertisements were displayed on food and medicine for the soul (Inspirational Garden) and Zumba dance to reduce weight to be healthy, wealthy and strong. Keeping in mind, the need for entertainment a scintillating dance was presented.

The audience was then brought face to face with an indomitable woman, a true soldier of the spirit, a mystic, a vision, who stood passionately for in her pursuit of the truth and she never wavered. She dart over many of her contemporaries and left an invaluable legacy to humankind. By her fortuitous destiny, all connected to her through Carmel convent institutions which was a pigment of mother veronica’s vision which she decided to impart education to young girls around the world. It was an interview with Mother Veronica (Prenisha D’Souza) and the interviewer was Nidhi of Class X.

The 10 amazing virtues of Mother Mary were associated to the life of Mother Veronica, through thought provoking questions, captivating quotations, a puzzling scenario that captured the concentration and attentiveness of the faculty and the students by Sr Sarika, principal in her presidential address.
