Mangaluru, Jul 16: Two-wheeler riders, who were riding without wearing helmets were in for a shock on Saturday, July 14 morning near Ladyhill circle in the city. Riders, who were driving without wearing helmets and those who did not strap the helmet properly, were offered roses by the ninth and 10th-grade students of Ladyhill St Aloysius High School and thereby created awareness of traffic rules and road safety.

In addition, the students also offered roses to senior citizens who were driving the cars with their seat belts firmly strapped as a token of appreciation of their abiding to traffic rules.

This event was organized by the traffic west police station of the city on account of 'Traffic Management and Road Safety Awareness Month' celebration.

Students, holding the posters of road safety awareness stood in a circle and created awareness among the public. Many riders who did not strap their helmets were surprised to see the students offering them the rose. They immediately strapped their helmet belt and proceeded further with a smile. Senior citizens were happy to hear the words of appreciation from the students.
