Mandya: Good Samaritan Alia Bhatt brings light to 40 huts

Daijiworld Media Network - Mandya (MS)

Mandya, Jul 15: Residents of 40 huts living in the village of Kikkeri, under K R Pet taluk near here saw light in the night for the first time in their lives. The area is called as the slum of Kikkeri.

Well-known actress Alia Bhatt is doing this kind of social service without any propaganda. Under the campaign 'Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe', which has started this year, Alia Bhatt is putting the dresses she wears for special occasions, including the ones that she wears during the shooting on auction and donates the money earned from it for social causes.

Alia got together with a Bengaluru based organization called AROHA, which donates solar lamps to economically backward people of the society from the money it gets from the recycling of plastic bottles, and provided solar lamps to the residents of 40 huts in Kikkeri.

The residents of Kikkeri were running from pillar to post in order to get electricity to their homes. However, their repeated efforts did not yield any response from the administration. When passing by this area members of AROHA organization saw the residents of this village under darkness in the evening without any source of light. So they provided the light with the help of Alia Bhatt.

The orphan residents of this place, whose huts were gutted in a fire that occurred 10-years-ago still do not have their own shelter. Except for the BPL card, the government has not given these people any other benefits. They were spending their evenings and nights under the light of kerosene lamps.

Alia expresses happiness through a tweet

"Our campaign has provided light to 40 families in Kikkeri. Numerous citizens of our country are still living under the darkness. Our aim is to provide light to these people with an environment-friendly method. AROHA, the Bengaluru-based organization is working honestly. I will do more social service by joining my hands with other organizations also," tweeted an elated Alia Bhatt.

CESCOM(KPTCL) is a private company merged with state government and for all these years MR.D K Shiv Kumar was the minister of Energy(power) what was Karnataka CM doing instead dragging central govt here. If the people are so literate they will understand the difference between state and central government that who has to perform the work if state fails then go for central for help and they will do it.

Only few weeks before PM Modi, his union minister and spokespersons in media hailed his government for complete 'electrifying' of India.
Here is the proof that even some part of India is still remain in 'dark'. Another big lie is busted by the truth.
This is similar initiative taken by another Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan is being hailed as a hero in the villages of Orissa after he helped light up thousands of houses across seven villages by funding a solar electricity project. Lighting A Billion Lives With Red Chillies is ongoing project.

This young actress from the Bollywood shown the humanity. It is time for Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Paresh Rawal, Ajay Devgan who had Billions rotting in tax free havens are name in Panama and Paradise papers go in vain.

I appreciate Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt for lightening this village. Hope her life too will be bright as this light and their smiles.

If I am not wrong, I had heard MODi and his team publicising that all of India is electrified. Then where was this village in K'taka? Was it outside India?

Everytime just marketing with bakwas facts.
