Madikeri: Student’s video on CM's 'apathy' towards Kodagu goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Madikeri (MS)

Madikeri, Jul 15: "There is a fear of the district of Kodagu getting washed away due to the heavy downpour. You get the benefit of the water of river Cauvery but have neglected the district of Kodagu, which is like the mother who provides milk, in the recent budget," says an eighth-grade student to CM H D Kumaraswamy in the video that has gone viral on social sites.

Fatah, the boy, who has made this video standing near the river basin at Yemmemadu, has succeeded in giving a real-time picture of Kodagu, which is battered due to the incessant rains and the suffering faced by the commoners, farmers and labourers of the district. The boy has shot to fame due to this video.

The boy, in the video, expresses his regret at the poor response of the state administration towards the rain-hit Kodagu district, though the river Cauvery, which originates in this district and which feeds Mysuru, Mandya, Bengaluru and Tamil Nadu, thereby acting as a mother who feeds the milk to her babies.

Fatah also says that the farmers of Kodagu are frustrated due to the repeated attacks and destruction of crops by the wild elephants. The labourers of the district are not in a state to earn their livelihood as they cannot work in the rain.

Takes B S Yeddyurappa to task

The boy also criticises B S Yeddyurappa, leader of the opposition in the Karnataka assembly and says that however much Yeddyurappa speaks inside and outside the assembly is of no use. He has requested Yeddyurappa to speak to Prime Minister Modi and provide some relief to the district. The boy has spoken extensively on various issues faced by the district.

Reaction of CM Kumaraswamy to the video

"I will listen to the woes of the Kodagu district by paying a visit to the house of the boy who has questioned me asking "Cauvery water is required, development of Kodagu is not needed?" I have assured the MLA of Kodagu district to open up about the problems faced. I will visit Kodagu in the near future. I will meet the boy during my visit. I also know that which party is behind the creation of such videos. The issue which was not there in the last 70 years, got created in two months?" questioned chief minister H D Kumaraswamy reacting to the video of the boy which is going viral on social sites.

Kodagu people should unite with coastal districts and protest stepmotherly treatment by kumaraswamy. Just like BJP fools people in the name of hindutva the JDS Congress combine is fooling people in the name of secularism. No one is interested in solving people's issues by developing infrastructure and creating better disaster management. Make everyone accountable from PM modi to CM kumaraswamy. Enough of your ideology crap. Show change on grassroot level governance.

right now bjp itself is last option of people...are much satisfied with four year's ruling. Had made major impact on terrorism and manage to control in large scale. Price of all basic needs are become much cheaper from before..a poor man can able to survive in much extent.
