Rahul Gandhi meets Muslim leaders, says won't allow injustice to anyone

New Delhi, Jul 12 (DC): Congress President Rahul Gandhi met Muslim intellectuals on Wednesday, addressing concerns that his party was adopting a ‘soft-Hindutva’ agenda. It is believed that Rahul Gandhi told them that Congress would take an inclusive approach for all sections of the society.

Rahul Gandhi met intellectuals in Delhi and assured them the Congress has no specific agenda for any specific religion or section of the society.

According to reports, intellectuals shared their concerns with the Congress President stating that the Muslim community is feeling threatened as his party is adopting ‘soft-Hindutva’ approach to win Hindu votes.

Rahul Gandhi assured that his party wouldn’t compromise on it ideology and wouldn’t allow injustice to anyone.
Hitting at BJP, he said BJP believed in the division but Congress believes in inclusiveness as it has to take everyone along. He also said that BJP is creating an atmosphere of division among people (referring to lynching, beating up Dalits and Muslims) and divert citizen’s attention from important issues and focusing on emotional issues.

Congress spokesperson, Priyanka Chaturvedi said, “Our doors are open for everybody”.

One of the attendees said that they had advised Rahul Gandhi, not to about the Muslim Community but rather speak on issues related to more citizen-centric like poverty and education. He was also asked to introspect on party’s past and how Congress worked in the 1970’s when it talked about ‘inclusiveness’ and ‘Sajha virasaat’ (Shared legacy).

This meeting with Muslim intellectuals was a part of the campaign for next year Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting was attended by Syeda Hameed, Salman Khursid, Congress minority head Nadeem Javed and many
more.

Congress should focus on all Indians not to give priority to one sect of people. One can call it minority or any other name.
Congress lost 2014 election , partly due to minority appeasement an d BJP fully exploited it. I do not know, why the so called minority are behind Congress. Are these so called minority representatives are the agent of BJP.

All Indian are equal. There should not be any appeasement on the basis of religion. Hope Congress party will learn this lesson.

Can't help., it's ancestral affiliation. For a few minority votes, efforts are being made to sell the country. Look at Birmingham, where British are a minority today!

Are you suffering any phobia inherited from the ancestors. Some are suffering from insecurity or some of the issues might be real, which may endanger our Country too.

You are talking of Birmingahm in UK. But what about our own Mangalore today. Kamath mam, when you walk around mangalore, do you feel the difference now and just .few years back. Day by day, in our place, outsiders are popping in. Shortly we may become minority.

Yeah there was a deep concern in the Vinci Congress's traditional vote bank, as the president was running from temple to temple in full media glare. So RaGa had to convince them that it was just an election stunt to show off and deep down at heart he will always be a KHANgressi.
