Mangaluru: YSM holds annual meeting, office bearers elected

Mangaluru, Jun 25: Young Students’ Movement (YSM) conducted its annual general body meeting, training and election for the Central Council office bearers on June 23 at Rosario church hall.

Fr Vincent Monteiro, parish priest of St Sebastian Church, Bendore was the chief guest. He called the students to be achievers in life.

Lanwin Lobo Urwa being the resource person of the day conducted seminar on leadership.

Nathalia D’Souza was on the dais on behalf of all the animators. Fr Rupesh Madtha, the director of the movement, welcomed the participants. Jenica Cordeiro from St Agnes Bendore compered the programme. Students from St Raymond’s Vamanjoor led the audience into prayer.



A resource material book for YSM ‘Guiding Light’ was released by the chief guest. The book is edited by Richard Alvares Kulsheklar, published by YCS/YSM Mangaluru and sponsored by Antony Boniface D'Cunha and family, Muscat.

The animators along with the director planned the annual programs for 2018-19.

In the noon the election was held for the office bearers for the year 2018-19. The office bearers are as follows:

President: Fathimath: St. Raymond's Kannada Medium School, Vamanjoor
Vice President: Jyothika Karkera, St Joseph's Bajpe
Secretary: Jenica Cordeiro, St Agnes CBSE
Joint Secretary: Rovita D'Souza, Sacred Hearts, Kulshekar
Treasurer: Pravanya N, Capitanio High School
Yuvathare Representatives: Jovan Albert D'Souza, St Raymond's English Medium School and Vishu, Rosa Misthica PUC
Chief Animator – Daina Anitha Lobo, Capitanio High School

Later, the outgoing office bearers were gratefully remembered with presenting them mementos. Samantha Saldanh, the former president, addressed the participants.

As many as 200 student representatives participated in the programme which ended in the noon with lunch. Mervin Vas, Nevin Dcunha and YSM animators were present.

The major portion of the financial expenses of the programme was sponsored by Tejas Karishma D'Souza, Cascia (Bengaluru).
