Siddaramaiah not opposed to new budget: DCM Parameshwara in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 24: Deputy chief minister G Parameshwara on Sunday June 24 arrived at Mangaluru International Airport and headed to Ujire to meet former chief minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah.

The deputy CM is expected to discuss about the new budget, cabinet expansion and appointments of party members to posts in various state-run boards and corporations with Siddaramaiah.

Earlier on Saturday June 23, several close aides and MLAs had met Siddaramaiah. During the visit Congress MLA S T Somashekhar had opposed presenting the new budget. Reports say that Siddaramaiah too is not happy with the coalition government led by H D Kumaraswamy presenting a new budget.

However, Parameshwara while speaking to media persons before leaving the airport said that he was not aware that Siddaramaiah had opposed the move to present a new budget.

"I have come to meet Siddaraiah who is our leader. There are reports that Siddaramaiah is angry with me. They are baseless. There is no truth in it. I spoke to him on Saturday over the phone. I will not comment on S T Somashekhar's statement," he said.

He then visited Dharmasthala temple to offer prayers, and proceeded to meet Siddaramaiah who is undergoing a 12-day treatment from Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital.
