Mangaluru, Jun 22: Atmashakthi Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited partnered with KMC Hospital for Manipal Arogya Card scheme campaign on June 11.

Saghir Siddiqui, regional COO, KMC Hospital Mangaluru said, “Manipal Arogya Card scheme is a social initiative of Manipal University introduced 18 years ago to make medical treatment for the public affordable. Manipal Arogya Card is like an umbrella which offers protection at the time of necessity. It is among the largest non-insurance based and non-government healthcare schemes in India. The scheme is applicable in the Manipal Group hospitals in Coastal Karnataka which means a Manipal Card Holder can avail discounts at 5 Hospitals namely KMC Hospital Dr B R Ambedkar Circle, KMC Hospital Attavar, Kasturba Hospital Manipal, Dr TMA Pai Hospital Udupi and Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital Karkala and two dental colleges namely Manipal College of Dental Sciences Manipal and Mangaluru.

“Manipal Arogya Card offers concessions to all the existing members on renewal of membership and to the new members by paying a small amount of money, which may well be recovered from just two or three visits to the hospital. Manipal Arogya Card scheme follows the vision of our founder where all the people of the society are able to afford quality healthcare,” he said.

Speaking on the cost and validity he said, “The person who has enrolled for Manipal Arogya Card before May 26 can avail the benefits for 14 months starting June 1 and ending July 31, 2019. The enrollment for the scheme will close on July 29, 2018. Those who have enrolled after May 27 will get the benefit from August 1 to 31st July 2019. Then enrollment process for Manipal Arogya Card is kept as simple as possible. Manipal Arogya Card membership fee is priced at just Rs 250 for an individual card and Rs 520 for a family which includes the card holder, spouse and all the dependent children below 25 years of age. For the parents of primary card holder under the family card, Family Card Plus add on for one parent is available for Rs 620 and Family Card Plus add on for both parents is available for Rs 720. For renewal of the cards, the enrolment fee is Rs 220 for Individual cards, Rs 460 for Family Card, Rs 560 Family Card with add-on for single parent card and Rs 660 for Family Card with add on for both parents.”

Briefing about the benefits and discounts offered at KMC Hospitals Mangaluru he added, “Consultations with any specialist doctor any number of times during the year will be at 50% discount at KMC Hospital Mangaluru. There is a flat 25% discount on laboratory investigations. For CT/MRI/Ultrasound there is a 20% discount. There is a discount of 25% on OP procedures done at KMC Hospital Attavar and 10% discount for OP procedure at KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle. For in-patient billing, there is a 25% concession (General Ward) on the in-patient bill (excluding consumables and pharmacy) for any number of times during the year at KMC Hospital, Attavar and 10% discount (excluding consumables and pharmacy) at KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle. A 50% discount on normal and caesarian delivery in the general ward (excluding consumables and pharmacy) can be availed at KMC Hospital Attavar. There is also a 20% discount on admission charges, bed and nursing charges and 10% discount on surgeries at Ultra wards (semi private, semi special and special) at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar circle new tower.

“Emergency pick up by MARS ambulance with no cost for radius of 20 km at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle. There is also a 25% discount on health check packages and diabetic clinic at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle. In addition, there is a 5% discount on evening clinic and 10% discount on diabetic foot management at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle. There will be an up to 10% discount on Out Patient Medicines purchased from KMC Hospital, Attavar and KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle.

“Any type of dental treatment (excluding consumable charges), dental radiograph (conventional & digital), CBCT, including doctors fees, orthodontic treatment (excluding consumable charges), any laboratory investigations prescribed by dental department, IP bill excluding consumables & medicines can be availed with 25% discount and 20% discount on implants (excluding consumables),” he said.

Atmashakthi Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited intends to campaign for MAC by making this card available at all their 14 branches in Dakshina Kanada region.

The first card was issued at HO Bendorewell on June 15. Chitaranjan Bolar, president, Nemiraj P, vice-president, Sitaram N, director; Sowmya Vijay, CEO, Atma Shakti Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited and Surendra Prasad, AGM, marketing, KMC Hospital Mangaluru, were present.
