Bengaluru, Jun 21: The state high court has sought the stand of the newly formed Karnataka government in the matter of transfer of Rohini Sindhuri, who was transferred abruptly while functioning as deputy commissioner of Hassan district.

The division bench of the high court comprising Justice H G Ramesh and Justice P Mohammed Nawaz, took up for consideration an appeal preferred by Sindhuri questioning the order dated April 17 issued by Central Administrative Tribunal which had upheld her transfer on Wednesday June 20.

Advocate for the appellant, Nagaprasanna, sought interim stay against the transfer order of Rohini, the then deputy commissioner of Hassan district. He requested the division bench to allow his client to resume work as deputy commissioner of Hassan district. In response, the division bench wanted to know the stand of the new government on this transfer. It observed that if the government transfers Sindhuri back to Hassan as sought by the appellant, her prayer would automatically be fulfilled.

The bench asked the government to clarify its stand on Thursday itself. However, the government advocate sought time. Therefore the hearing in this case was adjourned to Monday June 25.
